Departmental Handovers

Departmental Handovers

The very first thing we must do in a project is get a good handover from the initiating department.  A good departmental handover in a project is critical because it ensures a seamless transition of responsibilities, knowledge, and deliverables between teams, such as from sales to engineering or commissioning to operations, preventing gaps that can derail progress or quality. This process involves briefing the next team on key insights, risks, or unresolved issues, transferring detailed documentation, specifications or test results, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. A strong handover boosts efficiency, maintains continuity, and reduces miscommunication, keeping the project on track and aligned.
